Aaaa-choo!!

As soon as we pulled into the parking lot for the Fish Fest (on Sunday) Matt immediately starts sneezing. And so it begins. The verizon amphitheatre was apparently built in pollenville. So we get there, walk to our seats and sit down to enjoy the concert, but it wasn't enjoyable AT ALL. Matt's eyes are watering, he's sneezing up a storm, and his nose is dripping. I thought to my selfish self "oh no, please don't let him start", he's known to get bad allergy attacks, so I start praying really fast: "Pleaaase God bring healing, please don't let him have an allergy attack, please give me half (or more since men are babies, lol) of what he's feeling, then at least I won't feel bad if we have to go home, because i'll know what he's feeling". Weird prayer? Well then I, the one who never has gotten allergies, start sneezing and my nose starts running. It was almost funny. but not. We're trying to stay as long as possible to try and get some of our money's worth, all the while sneezing on each other. To top it off it was hotter than heck out there, 90 something degrees. Matt was completely miserable, so after a few bands we headed home. =( We did make it thru Sixpence, Superchicks, and most of Rebecca St. James.

We got news yesterday that our friend D's 11 yr old son passed away yesterday. He was riding his bike when a car hit him. D goes to our young adults church, we will see him tonight. As you can imagine he is taking it very very hard. Keep him in your prayers for God's comfort and strength.

Fish Fest!!

I'm SO excited, Matt "surprised" me with tickets (ok i've only been begging him to buy them and threatening that I would go alone, haha) to the Fish Fest concert and it's this Sunday!! It's only once a year and I loooove going. The FF is a big o' Christian concert put on by the Fish radio station. Here's the list of some of my faves that are going to be there: Jeremy Camp, Rebecca St. James, Superchick, Hawk Nelson!, KJ-52, aannnddd the reunion of Sixpence None the Richer!!!

K & Z's wedding

Yesterday (3/20) was our friends K&Z's wedding! It was such a beautiful day, thank God there weren't any "April showers" for them! We had the privelege of standing beside them in their wedding. Everything turned out perfect, and the bride & groom seemed pleased with their day! =) Here's some pics:

Shout to the Lord!

Last week on American Idol it was their Idols Give Back show. At the end of the show the idols sang Shout to the Lord! THEN they sang it again the next day as the opening song. I couldn't believe it! I loved it!! They sang it SOOO pretty, it was truly anointed. I could just picture God and the angels rejoicing! I just had to add it to my blog so I could listen to it anytime I want.

Bowling for Jesus!

lol, I love saying that, I don't know why. But our young adults group (Ignite) just started something called Connect. It's basically where we go on outings once a month, and invite someone who recently started coming to church or just got saved. It's a place where we can get to know new converts outside of the church atmosphere and more on a one-on-one basis. These past few months we have been going bowling. It's so fun even tho I pretty much suck at it. But it's fun getting to know everyone!

So Saturday was my friend's bridal shower. She's getting married this Sunday!! Matt & I are in thieir wedding too! =) I don't have any pics of the actual shower because I didn't have my camera with me but I do have pics of the goodies that I made for the party. I made sure to take pics of them beforehand.

I got this cookie idea from a girl on a cooking message board, but I just changed all the colors and designs.

I am sooo tired right now, today was LONG and HOT!! Now I have a total headache and i'm exhausted! Man I can just imagine how summer is going to be! I need to keep hydrated because around 7 (while I was at the bridal shower) I started feeling dizzy. I have some pics to post from both showers today, but I don't have my camera with me. I need to go to bed!!!

JoJo's 2nd Birthday!

So y'all know all about our love for our godson/nephew jojo already right? Well he just turned 2 a few weeks ago! We actually celebrated his b-day a few times, once with his mom & dad & siblings we went to Chuck E Cheese, once with all the family at the park for a bbq, and then me and Matt took him to Disneyland! He looooves Disneyland, he's already been there 4 or 5x and he's only 2! Lucky kid! Here are some pics from his 2nd birthday!!

TGIF!!

Yay, it's Friday and the weekend is here! I feel like I am at the starting line of a race and i'm about to take off! I have a busy busy weekend ahead of me! Tonight we have our young adults church to attend (Ignite) and we usually don't get home til about 11ish. Then tomorrow I have a baby shower for my good friend at 1:30, which I'm really excited about because I haven't seen this friend in awhile. Then at 4:30 I am going to a bridal shower for my friend Kristina. This is the wedding that Matt & I are in. I'm taking a few desserts too so I have to make sure I have that all ready tonight! Oy! I already bought everything I need to make everything, plus I dipped the pretzels last night so that's done! Sunday morning we have church, THEN it's our really good friends Daniel & Christina's son's 1st birthday! I also have a hair appointment at 3:30, my hair is in need of some major lovin'. It's pathetic.
Thank God for good weather tho! It's supposed to be around 84 on Saturday and 87 on Sunday! I wish I could go to the beach and layout, but unless I plan on going at 6am tomorrow morning there just isn't really time for that!

"Everything Changed"

So this post is about my friend Luwann. She goes to my church and sings on the worship team, and has been saved for 11 years now. I've known her for years. She recently had a documentary about her life done by a guy named Bobby Marquez. Knowing Luwann now I can't even BELIEVE the struggles that she went thru, she seems so polished and well put together and above all has an amazing relationship with God, her mom and her sister. She is an awesome friend and prayer partner, with a big heart. Please take a look at the trailers and see for yourself the miracle of how God can take a good for nothing drug addicted person off the streets and turn them into a beautiful person doing what the Creator has called her to do.

Another baby shower...

Another post of long overdue pictures! This was a baby shower for my sister's LAST baby! My sister had a super hard year so my mom, her bff & I decided to have her a lil something. Since she already had everything she needed from her previous baby, we did a small Diapees & Wipees Shower for her. Instead of any type of gifts we just asked (in a very cute poem) for either diapers or wipees for the new baby. (it was mostly family and close friends so they didn't mind that) The invitation had a picture of a pregnant lady on it and it said "This girl needs a party!"
